Our first anniversary: One year Mesh Studio. Ten blogposts. So, we are in thought about what's going to happen next. Of course especially concerning the fashion industry!
WARNING: This Blog is all about our own opinion - concerning the fashion industry right now and in the future. Be prepared.
Craft (KnowHow): "Acne Studio" basic products are fancied by wannabe-bloggers, and even fulltime-bloggers, as if the brand has invented the wheel. Actually, it is a plain basic cotton shirt, produced in foreign countries. Anyway, we have to face the fact, that Acne is member of the "Fear Wear Foundation".
Design (Protest): true to the motto "the worse the better", let's have a look at "Michael Kors" leatherproducts (bags). Design? Which design, that's the question! The main reason people buy products like this is, because of it's name. Which has nothing to do with good design. Remarkable how such an uncreative product, can experience such a hype.
Vetements: There is hardly a fashion label which is discussed more often. Mostly negative though, with the blaming of plagiarism. Their roots reach to the head designer "Demna Gvasalia", who worked for "Maison Martin Margiela".
Blogger (Wannabe): Nearly every second blogger is convinced that he/she is a fashiondesigner - no big surprise the term "fast fashion" is more used than ever. (Well, in a negative way now). The world already possesses more than enough printed shirts, definitely. To sew is a craft. And as we already know, you have to work hard to learn a craft. Like Alexander McQueen once said: "You have to know the rules to break them“. We looked at bloggers who earn money by posting products they mostly do not really stand behind. The only purpose is money which is basically a bit sad. Where are the honest bloggers? Do they even exist? Note: do not sell your soul for money.
Last but not least: With this blogpost we wanted to push you, to follow your own spirit of aesthetic, and to consume less stuff because nobody really needs it!
Don’t follow trends - be your own trend.
